SCL & Yorkshire Cricket College offer two qualifications for learners aged 16-18:
- NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma In Sport and Physical Activity
- BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business
Both programmes are delivered exclusively at Emerald Headingley Stadium.
The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s educational programmes aim to utilise the power of cricket, the inspirational environment and world class facilities at Emerald Headingley to give the participants an unforgettable educational and cricketing experience.
The educational offer is aimed towards students aged 16-18 years old looking for a non-traditional educational environment. Cricket is used to holistically develop the
students by developing team work skills, enhancing self-confidence, leadership ability and autonomy. Furthermore, the cricket sessions are a motivation to complete assignments on time and ensure a mature attitude in the classroom.
Outside of the classroom and training setting, the Yorkshire Cricket College provides unique personal development opportunities through extra curricular qualifications, work experience and volunteering at major events across the summer.

Pro Coach will provide you with…
- 6 hours practical delivery per week built into the timetable
- Coaching from ECB level 3 coaches led by former Yorkshire CCC professional David Wainwright and Matt Green
- World class indoor facilities based at Emerald Headingley Stadium
- Holistic cricket and physical development program with dedicated strength and conditioning sessions
- A focus on all game formats and related skills
- Seasonal fixtures against a blend of local schools and representative teams
Under the guidance of highly experienced and qualified ECB coaches, you will train up to 6 hours’ per week, with a focus on your technical, tactical and physical development, complimented by cricket sessions built into your timetable.
Players will be involved in all aspects of developing their own games. Each player will have their own player development programme to which they will be working over the 2 years of their programme.
PLAYER PERFORMANCE PROFILE
Throughout your programme, you will complete a Player Performance Profile which will include fitness testing, evaluation of your playing attributes, a SWOT analysis, and game time and injury reviews.
We don’t just measure your progress based on your academic grades on your programme. We also measure your progress for Sporting Excellence and soft skills, such as communication, presentation, timekeeping and your ability to meet deadlines.
This is about developing you as a player and as a person.

- Classrooms located in the Carnegie Pavilion looking out onto the ground
- Common Room with Sky TV and table tennis
- Study area to work on assignments out of lessons
- Lockers in the Cricket Centre to keep cricket bags in throughout the year
- Train alongside the pros in the 8-lane indoor Cricket Centre to train in during the close season
