Stuart Allen
Group Director of Operations/Principal of Education

Stuart has 15 years’ experience within the education sector in roles ranging from teacher to Vice Principal.

A passionate and driven senior leader, who is dedicated to the delivery of life-changing education, Stuart has a broad experience in strategic and operational leadership that delivers positive outcomes for learners and partners.

Adam Peters
Director of SCL Education

Adam has worked within the FE sector since 2007 where he set out as a teacher in a London college. Fast forward 16 years and Adam now leads the day-to-day delivery and management of study programmes having progressed through a range of roles in quality, leadership, curriculum and awarding organisations.

Adam takes a keen interest in policy and draws from extensive study into educational leadership to ensure a well-motivated team who work to deliver exceptional outcomes for learners, who in turn are able to positively contribute to their local communities.

Lawrence Blair
Commercial Director for SCL Education

Lawrence has been working in education and the FE sector for over 20 years. Starting as a teacher and moving into various senior management roles in curriculum, quality, and leadership within the FE sector.

Lawrence has developed meaningful partnerships with a variety of organisations across the sector to drive commercial growth and widen educational opportunities for all.

Lawrence is passionate about education, especially its power to develop everyone regardless of age, background, or previous life experiences to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Rachel Robertson
Group Director of Learner Services

Rachel has two decades of experience in Post-16 Education and training. Specialising in the educational journeys of individuals with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans across diverse settings, encompassing colleges, Individual Learning Providers and the justice system, Rachel is passionate in empowering all learners, guiding them not only to meet but to surpass their aspirations and goals.

In recognition of her commitment to providing accessible training and education programmes for learners with LDD/LN, Rachel was honoured with a Fellowship to the Royal Society of Arts in 2012.

As a certified Mental Health First Aider, Rachel actively champions mental health awareness, contributing to a holistic approach to education and well-being.

Becky Vallely
Group Head of Quality Assurance and Improvement

Becky, an esteemed educator with 13 years of teaching experience, is a driving force behind positive learner outcomes and teacher development. With roles ranging from a teacher, advanced practitioner and now to the current position of Group Head of Quality Assurance and Improvement, she orchestrates transformative strategies redefining educational standards within SCL Education Group.

Becky passionately empowers educators, optimises learning environments, and envisions a future where education sparks profound societal transformation, fostering a world where every learner thrives and every educator excels.

Steve Mann
Commercial Director for SCL Creative

Steve has over 15 years’ experience in education including roles as a college lecturer, a SEND teacher, and a quality assurance manager within professional sports clubs. Steve set up his own company, LEAD Education in 2016, providing educational opportunities for young people and adults with a passion for sport, outdoor education and performing arts.

As LEAD grew, Steve developed LEAD Performing Arts, a pathway specifically designed for creative students to access high level training in unique educational settings, working closely with industry professionals. In 2023 LEAD Performing Arts merged with SCL Education and formed SCL Creative. This merger provided more educational opportunities for students across the UK and career opportunities for staff within the creative industry.

Steve has a deep-rooted passion for creating life-changing educational opportunities for children & young adults, developing business and cultivating careers for talented staff.

James Horn
Director Adult Skills

James is a passionate and dedicated leader with an attitude of wholehearted excellence in everything he does. James has several years’ experience in managing programmes, projects and people, delivering exceptional education and training.

Amie Dovey
Director SCL Creative

Amie has worked within the Creative and Performing Arts Sector for 16 years. Beginning her career as a professional dancer and moving into the educational sector by graduating as a teacher from The Royal Academy of Dance.

A passion to drive standards of performing arts led to her upholding posts within secondary schools, FE Colleges and elite vocational colleges. At such establishments, she was an ambassador for the industry by implementing several schemes that introduced students to Dance and inspired them to seek careers within the industry.

Amie now leads the SCL Creative division in the delivery of study programme. Within this role she draws on her experience as a Creative Arts specialist and Senior Leader with Pearson. She leads a highly driven and motivated team, all of which share the vision of delivering high quality creative arts training to young people.

English and Maths is an important part of education and our teams of Maths and English Specialists drive excellence in this area.

SAFEGUARDING AND HEALTH & SAFETY

Safeguarding and Health and Safety is paramount at SCL, which is why our experts ensure we have everything in place to keep learners safe. SCL seeks to perform a level of basic compliance and to become an exemplary leader in the sports and education industry regarding safety risk management.
