THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE

Creating opportunities for our football programme learners, the Youth Development League brings together ambitious footballing talent from across the country in a competitive, FA sanctioned youth football league. Over 40 of SCL’s education centres currently participate in the Youth Development League.

Matches are played weekly to compliment players’ educational studies by offering a regular opportunity to put their training into practice. As an SCL learner, you may be eligible to play in the Youth Development League*, which will give you regular structured games and a chance to further develop on the pitch.

*Subject to the SCL Education Centre, football programme learners only.

At Charlton, we have a classroom at our training ground which is where the SCL programme is delivered. The boys are fortunate as they get to train close to the first team. We’ve got four 3G pitches and plenty of space to work as a group on different aspects of the game.
